It has been a much less challenging week so far – in some respects. I do have to learn responsibilities for two new volunteer positions, and it’s proving a tad challenging. Once I’ve done things a couple of times, it will come together more quickly.
Anyhoo, it’s almost Christmas and that means time with family members I haven’t seen in ages. As Martha Stewart loved to say, “And that’s a good thing.”
Editing
I’ve kicked it into high gear with the newest manuscript, and should be done by the end of the week.
The Write! On news bulletin is about ready to send along. The outgoing first editor is a big help. Thank you, Laura!
Carolyn and I have talked and plan to do so a couple of times per week until we finish up the edits of her manuscript. We’ll probably back off to once per week over the holidays.
The same is true of Deb, although a member of her family will be having surgery soon, and that is sure to change our plans some. We are working through her manuscript a couple of chapters at a time and tweaking it as we go.
Writing
I’ll get the last chapter of Deb’s book written so we can edit it when we come to it in our “final” review process. It’s a little piece down the queue, so I should be good.
I hope to write the essay for my doula certification tomorrow. With everything else I have to do, I think the research paper will have to wait at least until next week.
The blogging is going not too badly. Again, my new responsibilities are throwing off my regular schedule. On the upside, I’ve committed to posting twice on the one site I’ve been neglecting for weeks.
Christmas Skits
The rehearsal for Skit 1 went well – if laughing at my own jokes is a good sign. It will be performed three or four times tonight, and then I’ll move on to prep for Skit 2. (Okay, so I do have to wash the sleeve of one of the costumes for tonight, but that’s no biggie. At least there’s no sewing involved Whew!)
I probably have three of my actors for the Christmas skit. I only need three more. Shouldn’t be a problem.
Submissions
Countdown to Deadline: 18 days (if you count today)
Reading
Skills development…none since Sunday.
Reading for my course…pretty much on track.
I have two books I’m reading to review. I give myself the full month to get them done. After all, I should probably devote a significant amount of time to endeavours that will actually get some of the bills paid. If only I could get paid to read all day, I would more than willingly devote a day or two each week.
Volunteer Work
Learning new skills can be a challenge, but I look forward to mastering them – or learning them well enough to fake it. (grin)
Exercise
I popped in a new DVD yesterday, and low and behold, it included a weekly plan. I can click on each day’s workout and follow along for 30 minutes. I plan to do this most days until mid-January and then change things up. The DVD includes cardio and resistance training. Perfect!
Hope the rest of your week is splendiforous!
