Can you believe it? We’re almost at the end of Round 4.
I’ve had a good week – and a fairly good round. I hope you have too.
Editing
I completed my first edit of Laura’s manuscript. When she sends back the last section with her comments, I will finish copying and pasting it all together, read it through one more time – tweaking as I go, and send it back for her approval. (Originally, she said I didn’t have to start until the New Year. I love being ahead of schedule.)
With Laura’s help – yes, the same Laura – I got the Write! On news bulletin together.
I made the changes to Carolyn’s manuscript that we discussed at the first of the week. The week got away from me, so we didn’t connect a second time. However, we will be chatting on Monday.
Deb and I spoke a couple of times. Yay! Her mom is going in for surgery next week, so we’ll only get to chat once, but she will be able to receive emails while in the city. Right now we’re focusing on those minor tweaks as we re-read the manuscript. My new goal for completing the reffing chapter is December 31.
I did a quick edit of a short article this week. Being approached, editing, and getting paid all in the same day – very nice. Now, if it was only more than $22. (grin)
Writing
The only thing to report in this category is my blogging. Because of other responsibilities, I didn’t stick with my usual schedule. I did, however, attain my goal for the total number of posts. Thanks to my friends Heather and Rita for allowing me to share their poems. Thank you, ladies.
Today I hope to get a post written for Under the Cover of Prayer. It will likely appear early in the New Year.
Christmas Skits
Was Skit #1 a hit? Well…sort of. Apparently, the adults chuckled. My humour seemed to go over the kids’ heads. Oh, well. That happens. Writing humour for kids…Kudos to all who do it well.
This weekend I will definitely have to cast Skit #2 and schedule a rehearsal. Sadly, I should probably have two people in place for each part…what with family events and sickness at this time of the year.
Submissions
I have one word to say on the subject…EEK!
Reading
Skills development…a little itty bit.
Reading for my course…have to catch up this weekend, but not too far behind.
I’m making significant headway on Book #1 that I’m reading for review. Perhaps, this weekend I will begin Book #2.
Volunteer Work
Ginormous learning curve…however, I have amazing, patient mentors. Ladies, you’re the bestest!
Exercise
Do me a favour…don’t ask. Sigh!
It’s been a slice. Hope to see y’all for Round 1 of 2012.
Your list on tackling your projects is encouraging.
You go girl!
I was sure I responded to this comment, Trace. Anyhoo, thanks bunches!
Enjoy the rest of 2011 and may 2012 bring blessing upon blessing upon blessing.
Busy busy and doing very well. Humor for kids is always iffy, sometimes it just depends on what part of the sugar to collapse cycle you catch them on (or if the cartoon characters eye falls out and rolls across the floor, it happened at a book reading earlier this year).
Have a great rest of 2011 and hopefully more editing and “paid gigs” will be coming your way in 2012
Thanks for coming by,Gene.
Since the skit was put on by live actors, the eye-falling-out-to-illicit-a-laugh wouldn’t have gone over favourably. (grin)
Anyhoo, hope you enjoy the rest of your year and have a spectacular 2012.
