In many ways, it was a great week.
Freelance Goals
~ complete co-writing manuscript with Roger (possibly by the end of Round 1) (Our brainstorming session [aka phone call] was fuel for some great ideas, both of which I hope to have fired off by Wednesday at the latest.)
*NEW ~ edit Michael’s second manuscript (I am over-the-moon to be working with Michael.)
~ work with Pirkko to bring her novel from idea to submittable manuscript (This will likely take the whole year.) (to begin in February)
Writing Goals (this round)
~ blog/post six times per week including ROW check-ins (I’m doing better, but I haven’t achieved my weekly goal yet.)
~ blogging to include at least one book review per month (January’s review has been posted.)
~ weekly blog posts for Monday Motivation (on track)
~ write at least one paper for my certification course (one of these days)
~ write two guest posts per month (It’s time to back this off to one guest post per month.)
~ polish a picture book manuscript every other month (Let’s go for February.)
~ write a short piece for a paying market each month (Four days to go and counting.)
Submission Goals (ongoing)
~ guest post (There are still four days to make this happen.)
~ picture book manuscript (February)
~ short piece (It’s time to check the Chicken Soup site again.)
~ read one book per month (I’m reading Shah Wharton’s Finding Esta and Kevin Albright’s Finding My Father.)
ROW-Specific Goals
~ pop by a number of my fellow ROWers sites each week (doin’ okay)
~ visit the ROW FB pages (occasionally)
Fitness Goals
~ choose new music for class (I’m listening to one of the CDs right now. I probably won’t use it, but it’s fun. It’s called the “Roots of Rock N’ Roll.”)
~ do more cardio (one day)
~ visit the gym two to three times a week (So much for the motivation of paying a bi-weekly fee.)
~ visit my trainer once per week until I’m done my sessions (She is pleased with my progress and that pleases me.)
~ eat better (It’s coming.)
~ drink more water (Thank you, Eden, for suggesting I drink more herbal tea. Great idea!)
~ eat dessert only on the weekend, if at all (Not exactly . . . but I am doing better.)
If you’d like to chat between check-ins, pop by the Facebook group. And if fitness goals made the list for 2013, we’d love to have you over at the ROW80 Fitness group.
Steph. Those are a lot of goals! A lot. And you’re doing pretty darn great with them.
I have two goals.
And last week I only met one of them…clearly, I don’t have enough goals. Rock on.
Thanks, Amy. Instead of scattered, I like to think of myself as eclectically-interested. (grin) All the best as you work toward your goals. Stop by anytime.
I feel like such a slacker
I’m happy to see that goal-setting works. Guest posts are necessary, but I think you’re right to put them behind higher priority items like work that pays. Have a great writing week!
I’m certain you’re no slacker, Kathrese. Just think how much I could get done if I stopped making such extensive lists.
Yeah, my creditors like it when I pay the bills . . . and so does my family. They’re fond of eating and living indoors.
