So, how goes it, my fellow ROWers?
As for me…
Editing
Time to polish Deb’ s book so it’s ready when we meet with the publisher (I usually freelance, so I don’t experience this part of the process. It’s very cool. I like it.)
Laura’s edit – DONE (at least I think so)
Write! On – pretty much ready for distribution
There’s another large project hovering on the horizon. If it comes together, it’s going to be full steam ahead for the next couple of weeks.
Writing
Last chap of Deb’s book – written
Last appendix added to Deb’s book
Children’s chapbook – waiting patiently
I must add “write picture book manuscript” to my weekly schedule. That way, it will get written.
The title of a post that came to my inbox inspired most of this week’s blogs. How cool is that?
Submissions
I must submit to the submissions process.
Reading
Skills Development – hopefully today
Reading for my course – again, hopefully today
Blogging for Books – I should be finishing up Mercy Come Morning today and posting my review.
Booksneeze – reading Sunrise on the Battery and quite enjoying it
Volunteer Work
We’re moving ahead with the updates for the Write! Canada website.
I think I’ll look for some items to post on The Word Guild website since we still don’t have someone to do that regularly
Exercise & Fitness
Instead of settling for only one workout with my buddy, we did cardio one day and resistance the next. I also did a quick full-body workout before bed one night instead of wimping out.
Plus, I’ve done two days of the Push Up Challenge. My goal: 50 full push ups and 50 half push ups at the end of the challenge
Row Specific Goals
Check in twice per week. on target
Stop by fellow ROWers’ sites every Monday or Thursday. Last week was a wash, but today’s a new beginning.
Continue connecting with my writing buddy regularly. Julie’s still the bestest!
Housekeeping
Spend time once per week working around the house…There are six days left in the week, not counting today.
Bad Habit
Some progress. Not enough.
Keep a little notebook with you and write down those things that inspire you.

Well, progress is certainly being made here. I wish I could exercise more – don’t get me wrong: I’m not incapacitated or anything, I just loath it so much. “Built for comfort, not for speed,” as my hubs would say
I suffer with Hashimotos desease which makes me tired and my muscles weak – I’m in the early stages of treatment still, but hope once the drugs kick in and the hormones levels stabilise that I’ll begin to feel enough energy to get my ass in the gym
But I could always do more that I do!
I totally do the recommendation in red at the bottom though. I have little note pads and pencils everywhere. Do you ever find though, that the simple process of writing down the idea spoils it somehow? It seems to lose some magic. Like it doesn’t fully transcribe or something.
Good luck with you goals this week
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you feel better soon.
I love to do resistance training. Cardio…not so much, though I know it’s important. I’m not a sports lover, but many are. While discipline is essential, I think a big part of getting – and staying – active is finding a physical activity that one enjoys. Keep looking. You might find it yet.
I totally get what you’re saying about lost magic. I guess, as writers, that’s part of our responsibility: trying to maintain the magic when we put our thoughts on paper (or the computer screen).
All the best. I’d love to have you visit often.
Wow! And I thought my goals were keeping me busy. It looks like you have a lot to do, but it’s so great that you’re on target with pretty much all of them. Keep up the awesome work. I think you just inspired me to get my butt in gear today. Thanks.
Thanks so much for stopping by. As you may have read in an earlier post – or several of them – 2012 is my personal Year of No Excuses. I don’t want to spread myself too thin, but there are definitely things I want to accomplish.
All the best with your goals. I’d love to have you pop by often.
TTFN
Here I am, popping in often!
I love my cardio, especially the zumba. I am seriously considering getting Let’s Dance I think its called for Wii? Then I might do dancing/exercise someplace other than the gym. Sometimes I just like to cocoon.
PS – I completely relate to your submitting to submissions. LOL!
Hi, Julie! Your comment caught my attention – I think you’re talking about Just Dance? I have #2 and #3 (and DDR) and I highly recommend them. I actually wrote up a review for all three the other day. You can find them on my blog if you’re interested. I love those games – it’s the only way I can exercise. Good luck!
Hey, Julie…I’ve been tempted to pick up the Zumba DVDs, but I really don’t have enough space in my living room.
So, looks like we need to encourage one another to get busy submitting, huh?
Hey, you have quite a concise set of goals… I like it. and you seem to be making great progress on all of them. Good luck with all your goals… I’m sure you will meet all of what you want to achieve
Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it very much. All the best to you as well.
ha, my goals like to change a lot too
i write kidlit, too – hope to hear more about your chapter book soon!
Cool! Glad you stopped by.
My poor characters…they’re just hanging out in a state of suspended animation. I best get them moving again, huh?
All the best.
WOW! Lots of goals! You seem to have had a successful week! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, Juli. This week, however, is getting off to a slower start. Oh, well…It’s only Monday.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
