OctPoWriMo Poem #11: Not Alone

To all who feel alone, who feel like no-one understands . . .

In courage they stand

Declare where they are

Facing the fact

Their heart bears the scars

Of darkness and night

Leaving them frail

Wounded and broken

Alone on the trail

Calling for someone

To reach out a hand

And love them despite it

Needing a friend

And some may not get it

Turning away

Leaving the hurting

Alone in the fray

In darkest of nights

When bracing winds blow

Questions may come

“Where shall we go?”

Take courage, dear friends

You’re not alone

Wherever you’re headed

Wherever you roam

Others are cheering

And spurring you on

Though hearings been hindered

 For far too long

With love and support

And help ‘long the way

The darkness of night

Can turn into day

The icy cold fingers

And emptiness too

Can give way to joy

My prayer now for you

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV).
