Our local grocery store recently displayed several Dr. Seuss board books by P.D. Eastman. He was my favourite author as a child. I didn’t pick them up when they were available and I’ve been kicking myself since.
As I wandered the store, trying to discover if they’d been put elsewhere, I came across The Little Golden Book Classics. I couldn’t believe the wave of nostalgia I felt as I flipped through some I’d forgotten all about.
Like any child, I suppose, there were bumps and bruises along the way. Not all of my memories are happy ones, but when it comes to the books I enjoyed back then . . . Well, it stirs the deepest, happiest recesses of my mind.

So, yes, I will continue to go ga ga for books. I have recently been reminded just why they are so important to me.
How about you? What memories are most treasured? What objects remind you of those precious times?
