Beyond the Warm Fuzzies

Heart Balloons

We wish family and friends

A Happy Valentine’s

All very nice

But love is so much more

It’s forgiving

When special days goes unnoticed

When children take us to the end of our patience

When friends turn their backs on us

It’s having confidence in God

When the money runs out

And the bills don’t

When illness threatens our body

And anxiety our mind

Love is doing the right thing

When we don’t feel like it

When the other person doesn’t deserve it

When no-one notices

My wish for you

Is not simply for a Happy Valentine’s Day

It’s for a life overflowing with true love

The kind of love that sees you through

When the warm fuzzies fall short

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogantor rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never ends . . . So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 ESV).
