In Death is Life

In endings are beginnings

Day’s end,

The beginning of a restful night.

In slumber is reawakening

Memories of summer put to rest

Stir potential for the months ahead.

In the chill is warmth

The biting cold

Drives us to the comfort of welcoming wraps.

In release comes embrace

Leaves release their store of chlorophyll

And are embraced by brilliant colours.

In death is life

The smell of decaying leaves

Brings to life treasured childhood memories.

In change is anticipation

As one phase of life draws to a close

The next emerges.

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39 ESV).
