The Mist is Mute

the mist is mute

it blankets the hilltops

if softens rough edges

adds it’s own perception of beauty

it hangs heavy

calming the spirit

weighing down the shoulders

oppressive or restful

it’s all perspective

the mind speaks

the heart knows

the eyes see

but the ears do not hear

for the mist will not answer

it is mute

“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken” (Psalm 62:1-2 ESV).

Your photographs are all quite wonderful. This is the one I’d paint. It reminds me of the cottage, and my favourite poem so far.
