Healing Words

sometimes the words flow freely

sometimes they back up behind a dam

(though thankfully far less often than in the past)

they overflow the barrier

and batter anything in their path

at other times

the flow of words heads down an insignificant tributary

soon to disappear into nothingness

as a river can change the landscape

so can our words

a broken heart mended

a troubled mind calmed

a desperate soul pointed toward home

would that the flow of words

that proceeds from my mouth

bring refreshing

bring healing

bring life

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits(Proverbs 18:21 ESV).

Thank you again. As others have said over the years, “my need for God is as great as my need for air, water, and food. Without God, I am dead.”
