Dropping Out

There’s a college

where they study the Bible

in every class?

How cool is that!

Sign me up.

And off I went . . .

Wide-eyed

Eager

Naive.

There I met

young men and women

who were doing nothing more

than biding time

though some were actually preparing

for lifelong ministry.

There I discovered

theological and philosophical perspectives

that made me question

everything I thought I knew.

After a year and a half

I dropped out.

And it was right

for me.

I didn’t lose my faith

and I did meet the amazing man

who would become my husband.

No regrets!

Today’s OctPoWriMo prompt was to write about something others may have felt was wrong but was right for us.

  1. I think out of all the other entries I read, yours and mine are rather similar. We have interpreted the prompt in a similar manner. Enjoyed reading your story… 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
