Overcoming Hurdles

My recent excuses (and why they aren’t excuses at all)…

I’m too tired.

No, I haven’t been getting enough sleep at night, and that has to change. However, eating well and exercising regularly will give me energy and help me think more clearly. Tiredness is actually a good reason to exercise, not a reason to avoid it.

I’m too busy.

If you do the math, you’ll realize you get more done if you include regular exercise in your daily routine. If you eat well and exercise, you will think more clearly and work more efficiently. Sounds like a plan to me.

I have no energy.

It really doesn’t take that much energy to put in a workout DVD. That’s all it takes for me to get motivated because I know once I exercise, even for half an hour, I will have more energy – physical and mental.

I have a lot on my mind.

Doesn’t everyone? Taking time to workout enables us to focus on something besides the things that are weighing us down. Watch your favourite TV show while on the treadmill; play your favourite music while lifting weights or stretching…

I’ll do it tomorrow.

Every day I don’t workout, it becomes less and less likely that I’ll do it tomorrow or the next day or the next.

On a positive note, I have two exercise sessions scheduled with my workout partner this week. How about you?
